Parāśara’s Counsel on बुद्धि (Discernment), Karma-Consequences, and Avoidance of Pāpānubandha Actions
एते ब्रद्यार्षयश्चैव बृहस्पतिपुरोगमा: । स्तवेन शक्र दिव्येन स्तुवन्ति त्वां जयाय वै,शक्र! ये बृहस्पति आदि ब्रह्मर्षि तुम्हारी विजयके लिये दिव्य स्तोत्रद्वारा स्तुति कर रहे हैं
ete bradyārṣayaś caiva bṛhaspatipurogamāḥ | stavena śakra divyena stuvanti tvāṃ jayāya vai, śakra |
Vasiṣṭha sprach: „Diese erhabenen Seher‑Weisen, angeführt von Bṛhaspati, preisen dich, o Śakra, mit einem göttlichen Hymnus—wahrlich, um deines Sieges willen.“
वसिष्ठ उवाच
The verse suggests that rightful victory is supported by sacred wisdom and reverent invocation: leaders should seek alignment with dharma and the counsel/blessing of the wise, not rely solely on power.
Vasiṣṭha points out that a group of great sages, headed by Bṛhaspati, are offering a divine hymn of praise to Śakra (Indra), specifically to secure his triumph.
