क्वासे क्व च गमिष्यामि को न्वहं किमिहास्थित: । कस्मात्‌ किमनुशोचेयमित्येवं स्थापयेन्मन:

Transliteration

kvāse kva ca gamiṣyāmi ko nvahaṃ kimihāsthitaḥ | kasmāt kimanuśoceyamityevaṃ sthāpayenmanaḥ ||

Translation

Janaka sprach: „Wo bin ich denn wirklich, und wohin werde ich gehen? Wer bin ich wahrhaftig, und warum stehe ich hier in diesem Zustand? Aus welchem Grund, und worüber, sollte ich trauern?“ So soll man den Geist festigen, indem man ihn immer wieder in eine solche Erforschung stellt, damit der aus Verwirrung geborene Kummer abgeschnitten und das Unterscheidungsvermögen begründet werde.
