श्रेयो-धर्मकर्मविचारः

Inquiry into Śreyas, Dharma, and Karma

सप्तैव संहारमुपप्लवानि सम्भाव्य संतिष्ठति जीवलोके । ततोडव्ययं स्थानमनन्तमेति देवस्य विष्णोरथ ब्रह्मणश्न | शेषस्य चैवाथ नरस्य चैव देवस्य विष्णो: परमस्य चैव

saptāiva saṃhāram upaplavāni sambhāvya saṃtiṣṭhati jīvaloke | tato 'vyayaṃ sthānam anantam eti devasya viṣṇor atha brahmaṇaś ca | śeṣasya caivātha narasya caiva devasya viṣṇoḥ paramasya caiva ||

Bhīṣma sprach: Nachdem er erkannt hat, dass die sieben Welten der Auflösung unterworfen und unbeständig sind, verweilt der Yogin standhaft im Bereich der Lebewesen, frei von Kummer und Verblendung. Dann, wenn der Leib sein Ende findet, gelangt er zur unvergänglichen und unendlichen Wohnstatt—jenseits jeder Begrenzung durch Ort, Zeit oder Gegenstand. Manche nennen diese Wohnstatt Shivas Kailāsa; manche Vishnus Vaikuṇṭha; manche Brahmās Satyaloka; andere das Reich von Śeṣa (Ananta); einige sprechen vom höchsten Sitz des individuellen Selbst; und wieder andere beschreiben sie als die Natur des höchsten, allgegenwärtigen, bewussten Brahman, erfüllt von Licht.

Bhīṣma instructs on the yogin’s outlook: seeing even the seven worlds as perishable, the yogin remains composed in embodied life and, at death, attains the supreme abode, which different schools describe as the highest divine realm or as Brahman itself.
