कृत्वा कार्यमकार्य वा तुष्टिमेषां प्रयच्छति । त॑ पुत्रपशुसम्पन्नं व्यासक्तमनसं नरम्‌

kṛtvā kāryam akārya vā tuṣṭim eṣāṃ prayacchati | taṃ putrapaśusampannaṃ vyāsaktamanasaṃ naram ||

Bhishma sprach: „Ob er tut, was getan werden soll, oder was nicht getan werden soll — er sucht nur ihre Zufriedenheit zu gewinnen. Ein solcher Mann, reich an Söhnen und Vieh, wird zu einem, dessen Geist durch Anhaftung gebunden ist.“
