प्रज्ञा धर्मे च रमते धर्म चैवोपजीवति । सो<थ धर्मादवाप्तेषु धनेषु कुरुते मन:,वह बढ़ी हुई बुद्धि धर्ममें ही सुख मानती और उसीका सहारा लेती है। वह पुरुष धर्मसे प्राप्त होनेवाले धनमें मन लगाता है

prajñā dharme ca ramate dharma caivopajīvati | so 'tha dharmād avāpteṣu dhaneṣu kurute manaḥ ||

Bhishma sprach: Ein gereifter Geist findet Freude am Dharma und lebt allein aus dem Dharma. Dann richtet er den Sinn auf Reichtum nur insofern, als er durch Dharma erlangt wird—indem er rechtschaffene Mittel als wahre Stütze nimmt und rechtschaffenen Gewinn als einzig würdiges Ziel des Strebens betrachtet.
