ततः स सुचिरं दृष्टवा स्पृहालग्नेन चक्षुषा । मृगमालोक्य हिंसायां स्वर्गवासं समर्थयत्,सत्यकी आँखें बड़ी चाहसे उधर ही जा लगीं। उसने बड़ी देरतक वह रमणीय दृश्य देखा, फिर मृगकी ओर दृष्टिपात करके 'हिंसा करनेपर ही मुझे स्वर्गवासका सुख मिल सकता है' यह मन-ही-मन निश्चय किया
Translation
Daraufhin schaute Satyam lange, mit Augen, die vom Verlangen gefesselt waren. Er betrachtete jenes liebliche Schauspiel ausgiebig und fasste, den Hirsch wieder anblickend, im Innern den Entschluss: „Nur wenn ich ihm Gewalt antue, kann ich die Wonne des Himmelsaufenthalts erlangen.“
