एवं विमृशतस्तस्य चिरकारितया बहु । दीर्घ:कालो व्यतिक्रान्तस्ततो<5स्याभ्यागमत् पिता,विलम्ब करनेका स्वभाव होनेके कारण चिरकारी इस प्रकार सोचता-विचारता रहा। इसी सोच-विचारमें बहुत अधिक समय व्यतीत हो गया। इतनेमें ही उसके पिता वनसे लौट आये
evaṁ vimṛśatas tasya cirakāritayā bahu | dīrghaḥ kālo vyatikrāntas tato 'syābhyāgamat pitā ||
Bhishma sagte: „Während er so weiter nachdachte, verging wegen seiner Neigung, das Handeln aufzuschieben, eine lange Zeit. Inzwischen kehrte sein Vater aus dem Wald zurück.“
भीष्म उवाच
