वर्तेत तेषु गृहवानक्रुद्धयन्ननसूयक: । पज्चभि: सततं यज्जैर्विघसाशी यजेत च,गृहस्थ ब्राह्मण क्रोध और दोष-दृष्टिका त्याग करके पूर्वोक्त नियमोंके पालनमें संलग्न रहे। नित्य पठ्चमहायज्ञोंका अनुष्ठान करे और यज्ञशिष्ट अन्नका ही भोजन करे

varteta teṣu gṛhavān akruddhayan anasūyakaḥ | pañcabhiḥ satataṃ yajñair vighasāśī yajeta ca ||

Vyāsa sprach: Der brahmanische Hausvater soll unter diesen Pflichten leben, ohne Zorn und ohne Fehlersuche. Stets soll er die fünf großen täglichen Opfer vollziehen und durch das yajña verehren, wobei er nur das isst, was nach den Darbringungen übrig bleibt—Speise, geheiligt als Opferrest.
