निद्रा तन्द्रीरसम्प्रीतिरसूयाथानवेक्षिता । अरतिश्न विषादश्न स्पृहा चाप्यविशन्न तान्,निद्रा, तन्दा (आलस्य), अप्रसन्नता, दोषदृष्टि, अविवेक, अप्रीति, विषाद और कामना आदि दोष उनके भीतर प्रवेश नहीं कर पाते थे
nidrā tandrīr asamprītir asūyāthānavekṣitā | aratiś ca viṣādaś ca spṛhā cāpy aviśan na tān ||
Śakra sprach: „Schlaf, Trägheit, Freudlosigkeit, Neid, Fehlersuche und unbedachtes Urteilen; ebenso Unrast, Niedergeschlagenheit und Begierde — keiner dieser Makel konnte in sie eindringen.“
शक्र उवाच
The core teaching is that a disciplined and well-governed mind becomes inaccessible to common inner दोष-s—sloth, envy, careless judgment, dejection, and craving—thereby preserving clarity and dharmic conduct.
Śakra (Indra) is describing the inner condition of certain exemplary persons: he lists negative mental states and declares that these do not ‘enter’ them, highlighting their steadiness and moral-psychological excellence.
