श्रीझवाच स्थास्यामि नित्य देवेन्द्र यथा त्वयि निबोध तत्‌ | विधिना वेददृष्टेन चतुर्धा विभजस्व माम्‌,लक्ष्मीने कहा--देवेन्द्र! मैं जिस उपायसे तुम्हारे निकट सदा निवास कर सकूँगी, वह बताती हूँ, सुनो। तुम वेदमें बतायी हुई विधिसे मुझे चार भागोंमें विभक्त करो

śrīr uvāca: sthāsyāmi nityaṁ devendra yathā tvayi nibodha tat | vidhinā vedadṛṣṭena caturdhā vibhajasva mām ||

Śrī (Lakṣmī) sprach: „O Devendra, höre und erkenne den Weg, durch den ich immer bei dir wohnen kann. Nach der von den Veden gebilligten Ordnung teile mich in vier Teile.“
