Adhyāya 199: Karma–Jñāna Causality and the Nirguṇa Brahman
Manu’s Instruction

ब्राह्मण उवाच फलप्राप्तिं न जानामि दत्तं यज्जपितं मया । अयं धर्मश्न॒ कालश्न यमो मृत्युश्न साक्षिण:,ब्राह्मणने कहा--राजन्! इस जपका फल क्या मिलेगा? इसको मैं नहीं जानता; परंतु मैंने जो कुछ जप किया था, वह सब आपको दे दिया। ये धर्म, यम, मृत्यु और काल इस बातके साक्षी हैं
Translation
Der Brahmane sprach: „Ich weiß nicht, wie die Frucht des von mir gesprochenen Japa sich einst einstellen wird. Doch alles, was ich rezitiert habe, habe ich dir bereits dargebracht. Dharma, Yama, der Tod und die Zeit sind Zeugen dessen.“
