Adhyāya 199: Karma–Jñāna Causality and the Nirguṇa Brahman

Manu’s Instruction

मनसश्न समाधि वर्धेताहरह:ः शुभे । सावित्रीदेवीके ऐसा कहनेपर वह धर्मात्मा ब्राह्मण बोला--'शुभे! इस मन्त्रके जपमें मेरी यह इच्छा बराबर बढ़ती रहे और मेरे मनकी एकाग्रता भी प्रतिदिन बढ़े”,अमृताच्चामृतं प्राप्त: शान्ती भूतो निरात्मवान्‌ । ब्रह्मभूत: स निर्दन्दः सुखी शान्तो निरामय: अन्य लोकोंकी अपेक्षा परमेष्ठिभावकी प्राप्ति अमृतरूप है। उससे भी उत्कृष्ट कैवल्यरूपी अमृतको प्राप्त होकर वह शान्त (निष्काम), अहंकारशून्य, निर्दधन्द्, सुखी, शान्तिपरायण तथा रोग-शोकसे रहित ब्रह्मस्वरूप हो जाता है

manasaś ca samādhiṃ vardhetāhar-ahaḥ śubhe | amṛtāc cāmṛtaṃ prāptaḥ śāntībhūto nirātmavān | brahmabhūtaḥ sa nirdvandvaḥ sukhī śāntaḥ nirāmayaḥ ||

Bhīṣma sprach: „O Glückverheißende, möge mein Entschluss zur Versenkung im Samādhi von Tag zu Tag wachsen.“ Nachdem er den „Nektar“ erlangt hat, der gewöhnliche Errungenschaften überragt—ja, einen noch höheren Nektar—wird er befriedet und begehrlos, frei vom Ich-Gefühl, jenseits der Paare der Gegensätze, glücklich, im Frieden gegründet und von Krankheit wie Kummer unberührt, im Zustand des Brahman verweilend.
