भरद्वाज उवाच
This line is a colophon, not a doctrinal verse: it marks the end of a chapter in the Mokṣa-dharma section of the Śānti Parva, framing the surrounding teachings as part of the Mahābhārata’s discourse on liberation (mokṣa) and dharma.
The text is concluding a chapter: it formally states that the 185th chapter of the Mokṣa-dharma portion within the Śānti Parva has ended, serving as an editorial/recitational boundary rather than advancing the story.
