Adhyāya 180: Jīva, Śarīra, and the Fire Analogy (भृगु–भरद्वाज संवादः)
इति भूतानि सम्पश्यन्ननुषक्तानि मृत्युना । सर्वसामान्यगो विद्वान् कृतकृत्य: सुखं स्वपे,“इस प्रकार सारे प्राणियोंको मैं मृत्युके पाशमें बद्ध देखता हूँ; इसलिये तत्त्वको जानकर कृतकृत्य हो सबके प्रति समान भाव रखता हुआ सुखसे सोता हूँ
iti bhūtāni sampaśyann anuṣaktāni mṛtyunā | sarvasāmānyago vidvān kṛtakṛtyaḥ sukhaṃ svape ||
Bhishma sprach: „So sehe ich alle Wesen an die Schlinge des Todes gebunden und in ihr verstrickt. Da ich die Wahrheit erkannt habe, bin ich einer geworden, der getan hat, was zu tun war; mit gleicher Gesinnung gegen alle schlafe ich in Frieden.“
