अध्याय १७८ — प्राणवायुगतिः तथा शारीराग्निव्यवस्था
Adhyāya 178 — The courses of prāṇa-vāyu and the regulation of the bodily fire
ह्ियमाणोौ तु तौ दम्यौ तेनोष्टेण प्रमाथिना । ग्रियमाणौ च सम्प्रेक्ष्य मड्किस्तत्राब्रवीदिदम्,बलपूर्वक अपहरण करनेवाले उस ऊँटके द्वारा उन दोनों बछड़ोंको अपहृत होते और मरते देख मड़किने इस प्रकार कहा--
hriyamāṇau tu tau damyau tenoṣṭreṇa pramāthinā | griyamāṇau ca samprekṣya maḍkistatrābravīd idam ||
Bhishma sprach: Als jene beiden jungen Kälber von dem gewalttätigen Kamel mit Gewalt fortgetragen wurden und Maḍki zusah, wie sie fortgeschleift wurden und zugrunde gingen, sprach er dort diese Worte—erschüttert vom moralischen Schock hilflosen Leidens und unrechtmäßiger Wegnahme.
