Dama-pradhāna-dharma (Self-restraint as the Root of Dharma) — Śānti-parva 154

कृतकृत्या: सुखं हृष्टा: प्रातिष्ठन्त तदा विभो । राजन! तब वे सब लोग हर्षसे उललसित एवं कृतकार्य हो महादेवजीको प्रणाम करके सुख और प्रसन्नताके साथ वहाँसे चले गये

kṛtakṛtyāḥ sukhaṃ hṛṣṭāḥ prātiṣṭhanta tadā vibho | rājan! tadā te sarve janā harṣeṇollasitā evaṃ kṛtakāryāḥ mahādevajīṃ praṇamya sukhaṃ ca prasannatāṃ ca saha tataḥ sthānāt pratyagacchan |

Bhīṣma sprach: „O König, o Mächtiger! Da waren all jene Menschen, nachdem sie ihr Anliegen erfüllt hatten, voller Freude und in Ruhe. Nachdem sie sich Mahādeva in Ehrfurcht verneigt hatten, verließen sie jenen Ort in Glück und heiterer Zufriedenheit.“
