Śaraṇāgata-Atithi-Dharma in the Kapota Narrative (कपोत-आख्यानम्—शरणागतधर्मः)
एतां बुद्धि समास्थाय विश्वामित्रो महामुनि: । तस्मिन् देशे स सुष्वाप श्वपचो यत्र भारत,भरतनन्दन! ऐसा निश्चय करके महामुनि विश्वामित्र उसी स्थानपर सो गये, जहाँ चाण्डाल रहा करते थे
etāṃ buddhiṃ samāsthāya viśvāmitro mahāmuniḥ | tasmin deśe sa suṣvāpa śvapaco yatra bhārata ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „Nachdem er diesen Entschluss gefasst hatte, legte sich der große Weise Viśvāmitra an eben jenem Ort schlafen, o Bharata, wo der Śvapaca (der Ausgestoßene) wohnte.“
भीष्म उवाच
True dharma and spiritual strength are shown by unwavering resolve (buddhi) and the willingness to endure discomfort and social contempt without losing self-control; external status is secondary to inner discipline.
Bhishma narrates that Vishvamitra, after making a firm decision, deliberately sleeps in the very locality associated with an outcaste (śvapaca), indicating a chosen trial meant to test or strengthen his austerity and steadiness.
