Draupadī’s Exhortation on Rājadharma and Daṇḍa (द्रौपद्याः राजधर्मोपदेशः)
अनुतं नाब्रवीच्छवश्रू: सर्वज्ञा सर्वदर्शिनी । युधिष्ठिरस्त्वां पाउड्चालि सुखे धास्यत्यनुत्तमे
anuttaṁ nābravīc chvaśrūḥ sarvajñā sarvadarśinī | yudhiṣṭhiras tvāṁ pāñcāli sukhe dhāsyaty anuttame ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Die Schwiegermutter, allwissend und allsehend, sagte nichts weiter. Doch Yudhiṣṭhira, o Pāñcālī — o unvergleichliche Frau — wird dich in Wohlergehen und Behagen setzen.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic reassurance: wise elders may fall silent, yet righteous leadership—embodied by Yudhiṣṭhira—has the duty to restore dignity and provide security and comfort to those who have suffered.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the mother-in-law, described as all-knowing and all-seeing, stops speaking; then the focus shifts to Yudhiṣṭhira’s promise or role in ensuring Pāñcālī’s future well-being and comfort.
