तेनानुचरता तस्मिन् वने विश्वस्तचारिणा । भक्ष्यं मृगयमाणेन चिराद् दृष्टं तदामिषम्,उस वनमें विश्वस्त होकर विचरते तथा आहारकी खोज करते हुए उस चूहेने बहुत देरके बाद वह माँस देखा, जो जालपर बिखेरा गया था। चूहा उस जालपर चढ़कर उस मांसको खाने लगा
tenānucaratā tasmin vane viśvastacāriṇā | bhakṣyaṁ mṛgayamāṇena cirād dṛṣṭaṁ tad āmiṣam ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „Als er in jenem Wald mit wachsendem Vertrauen umherstreifte und nach Nahrung suchte, erblickte er nach langer Zeit endlich das als Köder ausgestreute Fleisch, das über der Falle lag. Er kletterte auf die Falle und begann, das Fleisch zu fressen.“
