माजरि व्रीडितो भूत्वा मूषिकं वाक्यमब्रवीत्,पलितने जब इस प्रकार स्पष्टरूपसे कड़ी फटकार सुनायी, तब बिलावने लज्जित होकर पुनः उस चूहेसे इस प्रकार कहा
Mārjāri vrīḍito bhūtvā mūṣikaṁ vākyam abravīt.
Bhishma sprach: Als die Katze offen und streng zurechtgewiesen wurde, schämte sie sich; und nachdem sie wieder Fassung gewonnen hatte, redete sie erneut zur Maus. Diese Begebenheit zeigt, dass Unrecht, wenn es durch klare Ermahnung entlarvt wird, selbst einen listigen Täter zu äußerer Demut zwingen kann — doch der Zuhörer muss die Absichten weiterhin sorgfältig prüfen.
