Apaddharma Determination: Dialogue of Viśvāmitra and the Śvapaca
yadi kiñcin mayājñānāt purastād duṣkṛtaṃ kṛtam | na tan manasi kartavyaṃ kṣāmaye tvāṃ prasīda me ||
One should not cling to past injuries, especially those done unintentionally; seeking and granting forgiveness purifies relationships and supports dharma through humility and reconciliation.
Bhīṣma, speaking in the Śānti Parva context of moral instruction and pacification after conflict, expresses contrition for any past inadvertent wrongdoing and requests the listener to let go of resentment and be favorably disposed toward him.
