शकुनि (हिरण्मय-पक्षी) उपदेशः — Vighasāśin and the Difficulty of Gārhasthya
पुण्यं भवति कर्मेदं प्रशस्तं चैव जीवितम् । सिद्धार्थस्ति गतिं मुख्यां प्राप्ता धर्मपरायणा:
puṇyaṃ bhavati karmedaṃ praśastaṃ caiva jīvitam | siddhārthāste gatiṃ mukhyāṃ prāptā dharmaparāyaṇāḥ ||
„Diese Tat wird verdienstvoll, und ihre Lebensweise ist wahrlich lobenswert. Die dem Dharma Ergebenen haben ihren Zweck erfüllt und den höchsten Lauf des Geschicks erreicht.“
अजुन उवाच
The verse affirms that righteous action (karma) is intrinsically meritorious (puṇya) and that a life shaped by dharma is praiseworthy; such dharma-devoted persons achieve their true aim and attain the highest spiritual destiny (mukhyā gati).
Arjuna speaks in praise of a particular deed and the dharma-centered life of those who performed it, declaring them successful in purpose and recipients of the highest attainment.
