पितृदेवार्चनरता बभूव विजने वने | तब वह उग्र तपस्याके द्वारा अपने शरीरको पीड़ा देकर निर्जन वनमें पितरों तथा देवताओंके पूजनमें तत्पर हो गयी

Transliteration

pitṛdevārcanarātā babhūva vijane vane |

Translation

Vaiśampāyana sprach: In einem einsamen, abgelegenen Wald wurde sie der Verehrung der Pitṛs (Ahnengeister) und der Götter ergeben, übte strenge Askese und ertrug willentlich die Mühsal des Leibes als Akt ehrfürchtiger Hingabe und Sühne.
