Kārttikeya-Abhiṣecana: Mātṛgaṇa-Nāma Saṃkīrtana and Skanda’s Commission

त्रिशिखा द्विशिखाश्षैव तथा सप्तशिखा: परे | शिखण्डिनो मुकुटिनो मुण्डाश्व जटिलास्तथा,कोई दो, कोई तीन और कोई सात शिखाएँ रखते थे। कोई माथेपर मोरपंख और कोई मुकुट धारण करते थे। कोई मूँड़ मुड़ाये और कोई जटा बढ़ाये हुए थे

triśikhā dviśikhāś caiva tathā saptaśikhāḥ pare | śikhaṇḍino mukuṭino muṇḍāś ca jaṭilās tathā ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Einige trugen drei Haarknoten, andere zwei, und wieder andere sieben. Manche waren mit Federkämmen geschmückt, manche trugen Diademe; einige hatten den Kopf geschoren, während andere mit verfilzten Locken einhergingen.“
