Adhyāya 33: Rauhiṇeya (Balarāma) is welcomed and takes his seat to witness the gadā-engagement
बलवान् वा कृती वेति कृती राजन् विशिष्यते । “राजन! माना कि भीमसेन बलवान् और समर्थ हैं, परंतु राजा दुर्योधनने अभ्यास अधिक किया है। एक ओर बलवान हो और दूसरी ओर युद्धका अभ्यासी, तो उनमें युद्धका अभ्यास करनेवाला ही बड़ा माना जाता है ॥ ८ $ ।। सो<यं राजंस्त्वया शत्रु: समे पथि निवेशित:
balavān vā kṛtī veti kṛtī rājan viśiṣyate | so 'yaṃ rājaṃs tvayā śatruḥ same pathi niveśitaḥ ||
Sañjaya sprach: „O König, ob einer nur stark ist oder wahrhaft kundig—der Kundige gilt als der Überlegene. So hast du, o König, durch dein eigenes Tun den Feind auf gleiche Stufe gestellt—gleichsam auf denselben Pfad.“
