सुयोधन किमर्थो5यमारम्भो<प्सु कृतस्त्वया । सर्व क्षत्रं घातयित्वा स्वकुलं च विशाम्पते,'प्रजानाथ सुयोधन! तुमने किसलिये पानीमें यह अनुष्ठान आरम्भ किया है। सम्पूर्ण क्षत्रियों तथा अपने कुलका संहार कराकर आज अपनी जान बचानेकी इच्छासे तुम जलाशयमें घुसे बैठे हो। राजा सुयोधन! उठो और हम लोगोंके साथ युद्ध करो

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | suyodhana kim artho ’yam ārambho ’psu kṛtas tvayā | sarva-kṣatraṁ ghātayitvā sva-kulaṁ ca viśāṁ-pate ||

Translation

Sañjaya sprach: „O Suyodhana, zu welchem Zweck hast du dieses Beginnen im Wasser aufgenommen? Nachdem du den Untergang des ganzen Kriegerstandes und sogar deines eigenen Geschlechts herbeigeführt hast, o Herr des Volkes, sitzt du nun im See verborgen und willst dein Leben retten. Erhebe dich, König Suyodhana, und kämpfe mit uns!“
