अध्याय ३: कृपस्य दुर्योधनं प्रति नीत्युपदेशः
Kṛpa’s Counsel to Duryodhana
नान्यत् कर्मास्ति पापीय: क्षत्रियस्य पलायनात् | “इसलिये अपने बाप-दादोंके द्वारा आचरणमें लाये हुए धर्मका परित्याग न करो। क्षत्रियके लिये युद्ध छोड़कर भागनेसे बढ़कर दूसरा कोई अत्यन्त पापपूर्ण कर्म नहीं है
nānyat karmāsti pāpīyaḥ kṣatriyasya palāyanāt |
Sañjaya sprach: „Für einen kṣatriya gibt es keine Tat, die sündhafter wäre als die Flucht aus der Schlacht. Darum verlasst nicht das angestammte Dharma, das eure Vorfahren geübt haben; den Kampf aufzugeben und davonzulaufen ist das schwerste moralische Versagen dessen, der geboren ist, zu schützen und Ordnung zu wahren.“
