Kṛpa’s Counsel to Duryodhana

The verse highlights how martial success is publicly marked through ritualized battlefield signals (conch-blowing), reinforcing collective morale and the ethical weight of victory in war—where triumph is announced not merely as personal glory but as a rallying sign for one’s side.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Cekītāna, Śikhaṇḍī, and the sons of Draupadī have inflicted heavy losses on the Kaurava forces; after this successful assault, they blow their conches as a signal of victory and coordination.
