धृष्टय्युम्नं पुरस्कृत्य पुनस्तस्थी महाबल: । सत्यपराक्रमी महाबली भीमसेन उस पैदल-सेनाका संहार करके धृष्टद्युम्मनको आगे किये पुनः युद्धके लिये डट गये

Transliteration

dhṛṣṭadyumnaṃ puraskṛtya punas tasthau mahābalaḥ | satyaparākramaḥ mahābalī bhīmasenaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya sprach: Dhṛṣṭadyumna (Dhṛṣṭadyumna) an die Spitze stellend, stand der gewaltige Bhīmasena (Bhīmasena) — dessen Tapferkeit niemals trügte — abermals fest, kampfbereit, nachdem er jenes Fußvolk vernichtet hatte. Der Vers hebt unbeugsamen Mut und kluge Führung in den harten Forderungen des Krieges hervor.
