Unrestrained Battle Description and Śakuni’s Rear Assault

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how the same event—war—can be framed as ‘marvelous’ due to extraordinary prowess and dramatic turns, even while it remains ethically grave. It prompts readers to notice the narrative allure of heroism and to weigh it against the dharmic cost of violence.

Sañjaya, reporting to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, summarizes that the fighting involving ‘him’ and ‘them’ unfolded in an astonishing manner—serving as a transition or emphasis after describing striking combat episodes.
