वैशम्पायन उवाच
Inherited rank and privilege are presented as obligations: one who has received education (Vedic study) and careful upbringing should act with steadiness and uphold dharma, honoring the ancestral position rather than merely enjoying it.
Vaiśampāyana, narrating the episode, reports an address to a young man (implicitly ‘son’): he is reminded that he stands in his forefathers’ place, has been educated and nurtured, and therefore is expected to conduct himself in a manner worthy of that lineage.
