Adhyāya 45 — Duryodhana’s Distress, Śakuni’s Counsel, and the Summons for Dyūta

शान्तविध्न: सुखारम्भ: प्रभूतधनधान्यवान्‌ । अन्नवान्‌ बहुभक्ष्यश्व केशवेन सुरक्षित:,उस यज्ञका विघ्न शान्त हो गया था; अतः उसका सुखपूर्वक आरम्भ हुआ। उसमें अपरिमित धन-धान्यका संग्रह एवं सदुपयोग किया गया था। भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णसे सुरक्षित होनेके कारण उस यज्ञमें कभी अन्नकी कमी नहीं होने पायी। उसमें सदा पर्याप्तमात्रामें भक्ष्य-भोज्य आदिकी सामग्री प्रस्तुत रहती थी

śāntavighnaḥ sukhārambhaḥ prabhūtadhana-dhānyavān | annavān bahubhakṣyaś ca keśavena surakṣitaḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Das Opfer wurde frei von Hindernissen und begann daher reibungslos. Es war mit reichlichem Reichtum und Getreide ausgestattet, und—da es von Keśava beschützt wurde—gab es niemals Mangel an Speise. Zu jeder Zeit standen dort reichliche Vorräte an Speisen und Köstlichkeiten bereit.
