Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the dharmic importance of acting at the right time (kāla) and heeding the counsel of trustworthy well-wishers. A ruler’s ritual obligations are portrayed as timely public duties, supported and reinforced by the community of loyal advisors.

The narrator reports that the protagonist’s friends and supporters—speaking both individually and in unison—encourage him to begin a sacrifice, declaring that the present moment is the appropriate occasion to commence it.
