Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Thus instructed, Pārtha (Arjuna) set out, surrounded by a great army. Likewise, all the others too departed with their forces, having been honored by Dharmarāja—an orderly, duty-bound beginning to the campaign undertaken under the king’s sanction and with due respect.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic procedure in state action: even a forceful enterprise begins with clear instruction, royal authorization, and mutual honor—power is framed by duty, hierarchy, and respectful conduct.

After receiving instructions, Arjuna departs accompanied by a large army; similarly, the others also set out with their forces, having been formally honored by Yudhiṣṭhira, marking the organized commencement of their expedition.
