स धर्म्य पाण्डवस्तेषां वच: श्रुत्वा विशाम्पते | धृष्टमिष्टं वरिष्ठ च जग्राह मनसारिहा,प्रजानाथ! शत्रुसूदन पाण्डुनन्दन युधिष्ठिरने उनका यह साहसपूर्ण, प्रिय एवं श्रेष्ठ वचन सुनकर उसे मन-ही-मन ग्रहण किया
sa dharmyaḥ pāṇḍavas teṣāṃ vacaḥ śrutvā viśāṃpate | dhṛṣṭam iṣṭaṃ variṣṭhaṃ ca jagrāha manasārihā ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: O Herr der Völker, jener dharmatreue Pāṇḍava—Yudhiṣṭhira, der Feinde Bezwinger—nahm, nachdem er ihre Worte vernommen hatte, in seinem Herzen jenen kühnen Rat an, der ihm lieb war und den er für den besten hielt.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A ruler grounded in dharma should receive counsel by judging its righteousness and excellence, not merely its immediate utility; inner assent (manasā jagrāha) reflects thoughtful ethical acceptance rather than impulsive action.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira, after hearing the words spoken by others, inwardly accepts their bold yet pleasing and best counsel—signaling a turning point of agreement before any outward step is taken.
