महारथान् नागवरान् हयांश्न पदातिमुख्यानपि च प्रमथ्य । एको भीमो धार्त॑राष्ट्रेषु मग्नः स मामुपालब्धुमरिंदमो5हति,जो शत्रुपक्षके महारथियों, गजराजों, घोड़ों और प्रधान-प्रधान पैदल योद्धाओंको भी रौंदकर दुर्योधनकी सेनाओंमें घुस गये हैं, वे एकमात्र शत्रुदमन भीमसेन ही मुझे उलाहना देनेके अधिकारी हैं
mahārathān nāgavarān hayāṁś ca padātimukhyān api ca pramathya | eko bhīmo dhārtarāṣṭreṣu magnaḥ sa mām upālabdhum ariṁdamo 'rhati ||
Nachdem er die großen Wagenkämpfer, die besten Elefanten, die Pferde und selbst die vornehmsten Fußsoldaten zermalmt hat, ist Bhīma allein tief in die Reihen der Dhārtarāṣṭras eingedrungen. Nur dieser Bezwinger der Feinde ist würdig, mich zu tadeln—denn sein Tadel entspränge bewährter Tapferkeit und unerschütterlicher Hingabe an die Sache mitten im gerechten Krieg.
