Karna’s Suppression of the Panchala–Somaka Forces
apaśyaṃ bhīmasenasya dhanuḥ vikṣipato bhujī | dhanuṣ khīñcate hue bhīmasenakī candana-aur aguru-se carcita bhujāeṃ mujhe do baṛe sarpoṃ ke samāna dikhāyī detī thīṃ |

The verse highlights how inner resolve and disciplined strength manifest outwardly in action. In the dharma-yuddha setting, power is not merely physical; it carries moral weight, demanding steadiness, restraint, and responsibility amid violence.
Sañjaya narrates to Dhṛtarāṣṭra what he sees on the battlefield: Bhīmasena drawing and brandishing his bow. Bhīma’s perfumed, powerful arms are compared to two great serpents, emphasizing his terrifying vigor and readiness for combat.
