Arjuna’s targeted advance; Śalya–Karṇa dialogue; interception attempts
सजीवांश्वापरान् पश्य कूजमानान् समन्ततः
sañjaya uvāca | sajīvān aśvān aparān paśya kūjamānān samantataḥ | prajā-pālaka arjuna |
Sañjaya sprach: „O Arjuna, Beschützer des Volkes, sieh jene anderen Pferde, in denen noch Leben ist—überall ringsum wimmern sie. Bei ihnen haben viele ihrer Begleiter und Verwandten die Waffen weggeworfen, sich dicht daneben gesetzt und weinen immer wieder.“
