Adhyāya 41 — Kṛṣṇa’s Battlefield Briefing and the Renewal of the Great Engagement
युद्धे सहिष्पे हिमवानिवाचलो धनंजयं क्रुद्धममृष्यमाणम् । 'वृक्षोंकी तोड़-उखाड़ देनेवाली प्रचण्ड वायुके समान प्रमथनशील, बलवान, प्रहारकुशल, तोड़-फोड़ करनेवाले तथा अमर्षशील क़ुद्ध अर्जुनका वेग आज मैं युद्धस्थलमें हिमालय पर्वतके समान अचल रहकर सहन करूँगा
yuddhe sahiṣpe himavān ivācalaḥ dhanañjayaṁ kruddham amṛṣyamāṇam | vṛkṣāṇāṁ toḍa-ukhāḍa-dāyinī pracaṇḍa-vāyur iva pramathanaśīlaḥ balavān prahārakuśalaḥ toḍa-phoḍa-kārī tathā amarṣīlaḥ kruddha arjunasya vegaṁ adya ahaṁ yuddhasthale himālaya-parvata-samānam acalaḥ bhūtvā sahiṣye ||
Sañjaya sprach: „In dieser Schlacht werde ich den Ansturm Dhanañjayas—Arjunas—ertragen, der zornig ist und keine Kränkung duldet. Wie ein wilder Sturmwind, der Bäume bricht und ausreißt, ist er im Angriff zermalmend, kraftvoll, im Schlag geübt und zerstörerisch. Doch heute werde ich auf dem Feld des Krieges seine Wucht tragen, indem ich unbewegt stehe wie der Himalaya selbst.“
