Karṇa’s Pressure on the Pāñcālas; Duryodhana Disabled; Arjuna’s Counter-Advance
एकपाती च चक्राजड़: काक: पातशतेन च । पेतिवानथ चक्राड़: पेतिवानथ वायस:
ekapātī ca cakrāṅgaḥ kākaḥ pātaśatena ca | petivān atha cakrāṅgaḥ petivān atha vāyasaḥ ||
Daraufhin brachen Schwan und Krähe im Wettstreit auf und erhoben sich zum Flug. Der cakrāṅga-Schwan flog auf einem einzigen, festen Kurs; die Krähe hingegen versuchte die Strecke in hundert getrennten Anläufen. So stieg der cakrāṅga auf der einen Seite auf und die Krähe auf der anderen—ein Bild dafür, dass Beständigkeit und disziplinierte Mühe die rastlose, zersplitterte Anstrengung des Konkurrenzgeistes übertreffen.
