Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how composure and confidence in crisis can become a decisive force: a warrior who remains steady—even smiling—can demoralize opponents, turning victory into a moral-psychological domination as well as a physical one.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the opposing warriors have been routed repeatedly in battle, emphasizing that the victor fought with visible ease and confidence, defeating them multiple times during the ongoing war.
