Educational Q&A

Victory is portrayed as ethically meaningful when it is sought with auspicious intent and supported by spiritual merit—tapas (discipline), guṇa (virtue), and reverence toward the divine—rather than mere force.

Bhīṣma (Pitāmaha) describes how accomplished sages, the gods, and other beings collectively offer शुभाशंसा (auspicious blessings), praying in every way for Mahādeva’s victory.
