कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line

क्लृप्तं तु तं रथं दृष्टवा विस्मिता देवता5भवन्‌,मान्यवर! वह रथ क्या था, सम्पूर्ण जगत्‌के तेजका पुंज एकत्र हो गया था। उसे निर्मित हुआ देख सम्पूर्ण देवता आश्वर्यचकित हो उठे। फिर उन्होंने महात्मा महादेवजीसे यह निवेदन किया कि रथ तैयार है

klṛptaṃ tu taṃ rathaṃ dṛṣṭvā vismitā devatā abhavan, mānyavara! sa rathaḥ kim iva—samasta-jagataḥ tejasāṃ puñja ekatra saṃhata iva. taṃ nirmitaṃ dṛṣṭvā sarvā devatā āścarya-cakitā babhūvuḥ. tataḥ te mahātmā mahādevam idaṃ vijñāpayām āsuḥ—rathaḥ sajjaḥ.

Duryodhana sprach: „Als sie den Wagen vollständig bereitet sahen, wurden die Götter von Staunen ergriffen, o Ehrwürdiger. Es war, als hätte sich der ganze Glanz der Welt zu einer einzigen Masse verdichtet. Als sie ihn vollendet sahen, standen alle Gottheiten bestürzt; dann meldeten sie dem großherzigen Mahādeva ehrerbietig: ‚Der Wagen ist bereit.‘“
