कर्णस्य दानप्रतिज्ञा–शल्योपदेश–वाक्ययुद्धम्

स्वान् स्वे जघ्नुर्महाराज परांश्वैव समागतान्
svān sve jaghnur mahārāja parāṁś caiva samāgatān
Sañjaya sprach: O großer König, in jenem Zusammenprall erschlugen die Krieger in ihren eigenen Reihen die Ihren, und sie töteten ebenso die gegnerischen Kämpfer, die zum Kampf zusammengeströmt waren—so verworren und erbarmungslos war das Ringen geworden.
