कर्णस्य दानप्रतिज्ञा–शल्योपदेश–वाक्ययुद्धम्

ततः किलकिलाशब्दा: प्रादुरासन् महीपते । भूपाल! तदनन्तर उस महासमरमें सहस्रों बाजे बजने लगे और वहाँ किलकिलाहटकी आवाज गूँज उठी
tataḥ kilakilāśabdāḥ prādurāsan mahīpate |
Sañjaya sprach: „Da erhob sich plötzlich, o König, ein lautes Getöse jubelnder Rufe. Unmittelbar darauf begannen in jener großen Schlacht Tausende von Instrumenten zu dröhnen, und das Feld hallte wider von tumultartigen Schreien.“
