त॑ विजित्याथ कर्णोडपि पज्चालांस्त्वरितो ययौ | रथेनातिपताकेन चन्द्रवर्णहयेन च,इस प्रकार नकुलको पराजित करके कर्ण भी चन्द्रमाके समान श्वेत रंगवाले घोड़ों और ऊँची पताकाओंसे युक्त रथके द्वारा तुरंत ही पांचालोॉंकी ओर चला गया

taṁ vijityātha karṇo 'pi pāñcālāṁs tvarito yayau | rathenātipatākena candravarṇahayena ca ||
