महत्या सेनया युक्तो दुर्योधनमुपागमत्‌ | राक्षसानां विरूपाणां सहस्रै: परिवारित:,वह सहस्रों विकराल रूपवाले राक्षसोंसे घिरकर अपनी विशाल सेनाके साथ दुर्योधनके पास आया

mahatyā senayā yukto duryodhanam upāgamat | rākṣasānāṁ virūpāṇāṁ sahasraiḥ parivāritaḥ ||

Sañjaya sprach: Von einem gewaltigen Heer begleitet und von Tausenden grotesker, missgestalteter Rākṣasas umringt, näherte er sich Duryodhana. Die Szene zeigt, wie der Krieg immer furchterregendere und zügellose Kräfte anzieht und so Gefahr und moralische Finsternis des Konflikts steigert.
