Chapter 161
आरुरोह रथं तूर्ण कृपस्थ शरपीडित: । जिसके घोड़े मारे गये थे, उस रथसे तुरंत उतरकर बाणपीड़ित कर्ण शीघ्रतापूर्वक कृपाचार्यके रथपर चढ़ गया
āruroha rathaṃ tūrṇaṃ kṛpasthaḥ śarapīḍitaḥ |
Sañjaya sprach: Von Pfeilen getroffen und von Schmerz gepeinigt, bestieg Karṇa—dessen Wagenpferde erschlagen waren—sogleich den Wagen Kṛpācāryas, nachdem er von seinem eigenen herabgestiegen war.
संजय उवाच
Even the mightiest warrior can be forced into dependence when circumstances collapse; in war, resilience includes accepting aid and adapting strategy, while the episode also highlights the grim cost of violence and the fragility of martial power.
Karṇa, wounded by arrows and having lost the horses of his own chariot, quickly climbs onto Kṛpācārya’s chariot; Sañjaya reports this shift as a tactical move to remain in the fight.
