अश्वत्थामानमासाद्य वाक्यमेतदुवाच ह । उस समय राजा दुर्योधनने कर्णका पराक्रम देख अश्वत्थामाके पास पहुँचकर यह बात कही--

Transliteration

aśvatthāmānam āsādya vākyam etad uvāca ha |

Translation

Sañjaya sprach: Als er zu Aśvatthāmā trat, sprach er diese Worte. Mitten in der Schlacht ging Duryodhana—als er Karṇas Heldenkraft sah—zu Aśvatthāmā und redete ihn an, um durch Rat und Befehl den weiteren Gang des Handelns zu bestimmen.
