Duryodhana Seeks Droṇa’s Counsel; Imperative to Protect Jayadratha; Pāñcāla Assault on Duryodhana

The verse highlights the moral and psychological reality of war: chaos can obscure even the greatest champions, but dharmic steadiness is tested precisely when visibility, certainty, and control are lost. It also implicitly affirms the significance of Arjuna’s alliance with Govinda—presence and purpose persist even when outward signs disappear.
Sañjaya reports that a massive barrage of missiles and the press of warriors has become so dense that Arjuna, Kṛṣṇa (Govinda), and even their chariot cannot be seen. The battlefield is momentarily a storm of weapons and bodies, concealing key figures from view.
